ABC Walking Group - Sat 28th November

Published: Friday, 23 October 2015

The ABC Walking Group will be visiting the Kinglake National Park on Saturday 28th November 2015. The walk starts at the Mason Falls Picnic Ground, about 12km from Kinglake and about 70km from Ashburton.

The walk is 6km in length and will take about 3 hours including a lunch break. It is mostly easy walking on good tracks. We'll also drive to the summit of Mount Sugarloaf to admire the view if the city skyline. The walk features panoramic views, lush fern gullies, abundant wildlife and a spectacular waterfall. It is amazing how well the forest has recovered in the six years since the bushfires.

We’ll depart from the Marquis St carpark at 8:30am and return by 4pm after afternoon tea in Kinglake. Bring lunch to eat on the track, a water bottle and sturdy shoes.

Let David Fearn-Wannan know if you would like to join us. Click here to see the photos of previous walks.
