Prayer for Thanksgiving
A Psalm of thanksgiving written by the community of ABC at the Cafe Church service on Sunday 30 December 2024. π
Praise the Lord.
We adore you and your amazing activities throughout the world, especially your action to send your Son to us.
You cover us with your unfailing grace.
You determine the limits of time and space, destroy the lies of the powerful and dance with the motion of the galaxies.
You equip your people to do your will and keep caring for us when we fall or fail.
You give hope to those in need, honour our requests, and heal our wounds.
Every day, you inspire us to be grateful for your amazing gifts.
The Lord joins his people into a community of praise over which he judges as Lord.
You have kindled such a powerful sense of fellowship and community through ABC.
For you are all-loving, no matter the paths we are on.
You make peace amid the chaos and nourish us deep within our souls.
The Lord opens our hearts and fills them with hope and joy!
You prove your love and goodness towards us with endless gifts of grace.
The Lord helps us quit our negative thoughts.
Your creative spirit runs through all of creation.
We praise you, Lord, for all the seasons; when itβs snowing, raining, stormy and cold, and when itβs sunny, calm, warm and pleasant.
You teach us to trust in you and build us up.
The Lord wields his almighty power on our behalf and yields a wonderful harvest in our lives.
We believe that you are active in this community.
Praise him, for He comforts his people in their distress.
You are always inviting us to dance.
You entered this world through your Son and elevated Him to extricate us from our sins.
You give food for thought, and we feel your greatness.
You hear our cries in distress and heal us with your never-ending love and hope.
The Lord inclines his ear to our cries and blesses us with his loving embrace.
The Lord joins and connects his people as we gather to pray.
Your unfailing, eternal loving-kindness heals and binds up wounds.
You nurture our growth from babyhood to adulthood.
You are omnipotent and look over everyone.
You prepare a table for us, to feed us in the good times and the hard times.
You quiet our hearts amidst the chaos.
Praise the Lord, who did resurrect from the grave.
The Lord supports us even in times of uncertainty.
We take hold of the joy of believing in you.
You utilise my weakest failings and help me turn them around.
Praise the Lord.
